About the Role

As an Apprentice Auto Electrician, you'll be part of a supportive team that values safety, development, and continuous learning. You'll work alongside experienced tradespeople, gain hands-on experience on industry-leading equipment, and develop the skills needed for a successful long-term career in mining.

You'll gain real-world exposure across our mining operations while receiving dedicated support throughout your apprenticeship journey. With a family-friendly 8/6 roster and a progressive training model, we make the transition into the mining industry and FIFO lifestyle both achievable and rewarding.

Commencing in January 2027, Westgold is offering multiple opportunities for both entry-level and mature-age apprentices to join our Mobile Maintenance teams.

What are we looking for in an apprentice?

  • We are looking for individuals:

  • From diverse backgrounds that have digital and numerical literacy awareness

  • With developed fine motor skills for using essential tools

  • With analytical and creative thinking skills

  • With an agile and flexible approach to life and learning

  • Who are motivated, self-aware and curious

  • That have an affinity for understanding how things work and wanting to solve problems

Essential attributes:

  • The right to work in Australia

  • Current C-Class driver’s licence

  • National Police Clearance

Additional desirable attributes:

  • Pre-trade qualifications in mechanical engineering, automotive or electrical

  • Work experience in mechanical engineering, automotive, electrical or trade assisting

  • Mathematics and/or physics at senior high school
