Headquartered in Melbourne, we operate two long-life assets: Golden Grove in Western Australia and Capricorn Copper in Queensland, with support offices in Perth and Brisbane.

Golden Grove is a high-grade underground mining operation producing copper, zinc, and precious metals. With a mine life exceeding 10 years, it has strong potential for further extension. The site is currently undergoing an expansion, including the development of a new mine, the extension of existing operations, and major infrastructure upgrades.

About the Role

An Alternate Underground Manager to oversee our brand-new Gossan Valley mine, at our Golden Grove operation in Western Australia. This site-based role reports to the Underground Manager and operates on an 8:6 roster. Your focus will be on supporting the safe and efficient management of all underground mining activities.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Managing underground operations to ensure safety, contractual, and statutory compliance while achieving production and cost targets.
• Leading engineers to develop schedules and plans aligned with production goals.
• Overseeing stope and development designs, production drilling, charging plans, and QA/QC.
• Conducting underground inspections and collaborating with contractors to implement designs and address non-compliance.
• Fostering collaboration between Technical Services, underground teams, and contractors to optimise performance.
• Driving continuous improvement, contributing to business plans and budgets, and identifying cost-effective operational enhancements.

About You

Our ideal candidate will have a strong underground mining engineering background, including contractor management experience.

Other key skills, experience, and qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in mining engineering.
• First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate.
• Proven ability to lead teams in delivering executable mine plans and schedules.
• Current C-class manual driver’s licence.
