The Workshop undertakes a range of tasks to manage Macmahon’s fleet of mobile equipment, as well as maintenance projects for external clients. The workshop is undercover and houses the rebuild workshop, quarantine, sandblast and paint shop, component workshop and warehouse store.

About the Role
Provide practical HSEQT support to the WAC Workshop, working closely with leaders and crews to strengthen risk management, compliance, investigations and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Ensure effective implementation and adherence to the HSEQ Management Plan.
- Provide practical HSEQT advice and visible support to workshop leaders, supervisors and crews
- Engage with clients on WHS activities and monitor site-based lead and lag indicators.
- Lead or support incident investigations, ensuring evidence, causes and corrective actions are complete and effective.
- Support risk assessments and verify critical controls for heavy equipment maintenance, rebuild and refurbishment work.
- Identify and deliver practical workshop safety improvements, with a focus on higher-order controls.
- Coordinate and perform inspections, audits and field leadership activities, and coach leaders to improve HSEQT capability
- Maintain accurate HSEQT systems and reporting and drive timely close-out of hazards and corrective actions.
What You’ll Bring
- ICAM investigation qualification and demonstrated investigation experience are essential.
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, or a higher Australian recognised WHS qualification, is essential
- Demonstrated HSEQT experience in a heavy mobile equipment maintenance, rebuild, component overhaul or refurbishment workshop is essential.
- Practical understanding of workshop hazards and controls, including isolation, stored energy, lifting, jacking, hot work and mobile plant interaction.
- Strong written communication, reporting and data analysis skills
- Ability to coach and influence workshop leaders and tradespeople through practical, credible advice.
- Australian Manual Driver’s Licence (Mandatory)
