Department Overview

Finance Operations delivers critical accounting and transactional support across inventory, warranty, fixed assets, leases, claims, and finance administration. The team manages high-volume processes, drives automation and continuous improvement initiatives, and partners closely with operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong governance across the business

  • 5 Days, Monday to Friday, 40 Hrs/Week

About the Role

Reporting to the Accounting Lead, the Accountant will join our Finance team on a 12-month Contract - at our South Guildford Head Office. Supporting one of WesTrac’s most critical areas of the business: Inventory Accounting. This is a highly analytical role where you'll work across multiple systems, reconcile high-volume transactions, investigate discrepancies, and help ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory reporting.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys combining accounting expertise, problem-solving skills and stakeholder engagement to drive accurate financial outcomes.

What You'll Do:

  • Own month-end reconciliations and ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Analyse large volumes of transactional data to identify discrepancies
  • Investigate variances and determine root causes of financial differences
  • Prepare financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions
  • Resolve accounting queries and drive issues through to completion
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and data accuracy

Skills & Experience:

  • Advanced data analysis and reconciliation skills across large, complex datasets
  • Strong investigative mindset with the ability to solve complex financial issues
  • Ability to identify, analyse and resolve complex financial variances accurately
  • Experience working with high-volume transactional data in complex environments
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and financial integrity
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and consistently meet critical deadlines
  • Systems-focused thinker who drives process improvement and data quality outcomes
