About Cadia

Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

Who we’re looking for

We are seeking a Vibration Analysis Engineer to join our reliability team at Cadia. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting advanced diagnostic assessments of critical fixed plant machinery to identify potential faults, improve equipment reliability, and support proactive maintenance strategies. You will have the opportunity to extend your abilities into other condition monitoring disciplines as required and to provide support and guidance on the direction and management of the condition monitoring program.

Your expertise in vibration analysis will play a key role in maintaining operational integrity and ensuring the performance efficiency of plant equipment across both surface and underground operations.

This role will work across surface and underground fixed plant operations at Cadia, with occasional travel to the Moly Plant and Blayney sites for inspections and data collection.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct detailed vibration analysis using specialised tools and software to assess machinery health.
  • Identify vibration patterns, frequencies, and amplitudes to diagnose mechanical issues and potential failures.
  • Collect vibration data during routine inspections and scheduled monitoring programs.
  • Monitor trends in vibration signatures to detect early signs of equipment deterioration.
  • Prepare clear and detailed reports outlining findings, root cause analysis, and recommended corrective actions.
  • Communicate insights effectively with maintenance teams, engineers, and operational stakeholders.
  • Partner with maintenance and reliability teams to implement proactive maintenance strategies.
  • Recommend improvements to equipment operating parameters to minimise vibration and increase reliability.
  • Stay current with emerging vibration analysis technologies and condition monitoring techniques.
  • Contribute to initiatives focused on improving reliability, asset health, and maintenance practices.
  • Investigate potential new condition monitoring technologies and guide implementation.
  • Provide condition monitoring guidance within your level of expertise and experience that can improve and expand the condition monitoring capability on site.

About you

The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset and the ability to translate complex data into actionable maintenance insights in addition to a passion for condition monitoring and equipment reliability.

To be successful you will bring:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or related discipline
  • Strong experience in vibration analysis and condition monitoring within heavy industrial environments
  • ISO Category II or III Vibration Analysis Certification
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems, machinery dynamics, and failure modes.
  • Experience interpreting vibration data and diagnosing equipment faults.
  • Excellent communication and reporting capabilities.

Please note this is a 5/2 residential role based in Orange, NSW. It is preferred that applicants have current and unrestricted working rights in Australia.

The successful candidate will be required to reside in, or relocate to, the Orange region to fulfil the requirements of this residential position.
