Ventilation Engineer

About the role

As a Ventilation Engineer at Northparkes Operations, you will play a critical role in delivering safe, compliant and efficient underground ventilation across a complex, multi method mining operation. Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer Block Cave, the role is primarily focused on ventilation planning, monitoring and optimisation within the active SLC operations, while also supporting broader underground development and future expansion studies.

About you

You are a technically capable and safety focused Underground Ventilation Engineer with experience in hard rock mining environments and a strong understanding of statutory ventilation requirements. You bring hands on experience conducting ventilation surveys, maintaining ventilation models, and providing practical, operationally aligned ventilation solutions. Comfortable working underground and engaging with operators, engineers and leaders alike, you communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

What you’ll bring with you:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering
• Proven experience in underground hard rock mining, with hands‑on ventilation exposure
• Strong working knowledge of underground ventilation systems, survey requirements and statutory compliance
• Advanced Mine design, planning and scheduling 3D software user, ventilation, and Production (Deswik, Surpac, VentSim)
• NSW Manual Drivers Licence
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and operational stakeholders
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and reporting skills, with high attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a dynamic production environment with changing priorities
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, regulatory compliance and site values
• Manual driver’s licence and ability to work on a 5/2/4/3 roster
