We're partnering with a well-established underground mining operation seeking an experienced Underground Safety & Training Supervisor to take ownership of site training, competency management, and safety performance. This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who enjoys working closely with crews, mentoring people, and driving operational excellence.

What You'll Be Doing:

You'll be at the heart of site safety and workforce capability by:

  • Leading underground safety and training initiatives across the operation.
  • Delivering inductions, mentoring employees, and ensuring personnel are competent for their assigned tasks.
  • Planning and conducting Verification of Competency (VOC) assessments.
  • Monitoring compliance with site procedures and legislative requirements through inspections, observations, and field interactions.
  • Maintaining emergency response equipment and supporting underground emergency preparedness.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve training systems, documentation, and operational processes.
  • Working alongside supervisors and operational leaders to embed safe work practices across the workforce.
  • Supporting investigations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen site safety performance.

What We're Looking For:

You'll bring a practical, collaborative approach along with proven underground mining experience.

To be successful, you'll have:

  • Previous experience working in mechanised underground hard rock mining.
  • Strong knowledge of Western Australian mining health and safety legislation.
  • Experience delivering workplace training and competency-based assessments.
  • Exposure to safety audits, workplace inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both operators and leadership teams.
  • Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Essential Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE)
  • Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent)
  • ICAM Certificate and extensive experience delivering
  • Current unrestricted Manual C Class Driver's Licence
