Your new role

We are currently seeking Underground Paste Crew Operators to join a dedicated production team on an 8/6/7/7 roster. This role offers FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane with all meals and accommodation provided, as well as DIDO options from Mount Isa and Cloncurry. As an Underground Paste Crew Operator, you play a critical role in maintaining underground stability and supporting safe production. The paste crew is responsible for delivering paste fill, a mixture of tailings, water, and cement into underground voids after ore extraction.

Key responsibilities include:

• Installing, maintaining, and monitoring paste reticulation pipelines
• Operating pumps and associated paste fill equipment
• Barricading and preparing stopes for paste filling
• Assisting with venting, confinement, and curing of paste
• Conducting routine inspections and troubleshooting blockages or system issues
• Working closely with production and engineering teams to ensure safe fill practices

This is a hands-on underground role requiring strong teamwork, mechanical aptitude, and attention to safety.

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous underground mining experience, ideally in servicing, paste crew, or production support roles
• OR transferable experience in underground environments, carpentry, concreting, or similar physically demanding trades
• A current open manual driver’s licence (mandatory)
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and police check
• Strong safety focus and ability to follow procedures
• Physically fit and capable of working in underground conditions
• Reliable, team-oriented, and willing to learn
