About the Role
We are seeking motivated Entry Level Underground Nippers to join an underground mining team. This role will see you working a 7/7 & 8/6 roster with meals and accommodation provided while on site. FIFO options are available from Townsville and Cairns , or DIDO from Mount Isa .
As an Underground Nipper, you will play a key support role to the underground mining crew, assisting with:
- Delivering and transporting mining consumables underground
- Assisting Jumbo Operators and underground crews with daily activities
- Installing ventilation bags and services
- Assisting with cable management and water lines
- General underground housekeeping and clean-up duties
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment
- Maintaining a safe and productive work environment
- Following site safety procedures and instructions from supervisors
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Previous labouring, construction, trade assistant, process plant, or mining experience (highly regarded)
- Current Open Manual Driver's Licence
- Strong commitment to safety and willingness to work underground
- Ability to undertake a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
- Ability to obtain a National Police Check
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks
