Underground HD Fitter – FIFO | Western Australia Location: WA (various underground mine sites)
Roster: 2:1 / 2:2 / 8:6 (site dependent)
Employment Type: Full-time / Casual

About the Role We are seeking experienced Underground Heavy Duty Fitters to join established maintenance teams across multiple underground mining operations in Western Australia. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing underground mobile plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on underground mobile plant
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
  • Perform breakdown repairs in a timely and safe manner underground
  • Complete preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing tasks
  • Conduct component change-outs and assist with rebuilds
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and OEM documentation
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
  • Adhere strictly to site safety procedures and underground mining regulations

Equipment You’ll Work On

  • Underground loaders (CAT, Sandvik, Epiroc)
  • Underground trucks / dump trucks
  • Drill rigs and jumbos
  • Boggers, charge-up equipment, and ancillary gear

Skills & Experience Required

  • Trade qualified Heavy Duty Fitter / Diesel Mechanic
  • Proven experience working on underground mobile plant
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
  • Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems
  • Ability to work in confined underground environments
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork

Tickets & Licences

  • Relevant Trade Certificate (HD Fitter / Diesel Mechanic)
  • Valid Driver’s Licence (HR desirable)
  • Working at Heights
  • Confined Space
  • National Police Clearance (often required)
  • High Risk Licence (Forklift, EWP – desirable)
