About the Role
We are seeking experienced Underground Electricians to join a high-performing underground maintenance team. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing underground electrical infrastructure, communication systems, and mobile mining equipment to support safe and efficient mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on underground electrical systems and drilling equipment
- Perform preventative and breakdown maintenance on underground mining assets
- Maintain pump stations, starter boxes, production drills, and associated infrastructure
- Complete cable installations, terminations, relocations, and infrastructure upgrade
- Conduct statutory inspections, testing, and compliance checks
- Assist with maintenance of surface electrical assets as required
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with site procedures and legislative requirements
Roster & Location
- 7/7 / 8/6 roster
- Night shifts incorporated into the roster rotation following every four swings of day shifts
- FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville
- BIBO available from Mount Isa
Requirements
- Electrical Trade Qualification
- Current QLD Electrical Licence
- Current LVR/CPR certification
- Minimum 2-3 years' underground mining experience
- Experience maintaining underground electrical infrastructure and mining equipment
- Current MMMQ medical highly regarded
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance
