Treasury Officer

Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.

The opportunity

We are seeking a Treasury Officer to join our Finance team based in the Perth CBD office. This role supports the CFO and Treasury Manager with debt financing, daily treasury management operations, and Group reporting and analysis.

To be successful in the role, the following is essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Financial expertise with treasury management experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Proficiency in Mandarin is essential as this role requires frequent and direct communication with China-based stakeholders
• Working knowledge of SAP systems and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• National Police clearance

To be eligible to apply for this role you must be legally permitted to work permanently in Australia.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Oversee and monitor annual and monthly budgets, cash flow, and variance reports
• Support financing and refinancing activities, including account setup, credit approvals, loan disbursements, and fee processing
• Manage post-loan administration, repayments, utilisation reports, financial models, asset valuations, and bank reporting
• Handle daily treasury operations, including cash flow, accounts, FX, deposits, credit cards, authorised signatories, and online banking
• Assist with budgeting, cost planning, bank reconciliations, and preparation of certificates and guarantees
• Prepare internal reports and perform other tasks as assigned by the CFO
