About the Role
Position Purpose
Reporting to the Treasury Manager, the Treasury Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day treasury operations of the UGL Transport business, including cash management, banking administration, transaction processing, bank guarantee management and treasury accounting support. The role works closely with Finance and operational teams to ensure accurate processing, reporting and reconciliation of treasury activities while supporting effective cash and liquidity management across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Cash Flow & Liquidity Management
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor daily liquidity positions and escalate forecast funding requirements or liquidity risks to the Treasury Manager.
- Facilitate execution of funding transactions.
- Banking & Treasury Operations
- Maintain and administer bank accounts, signatories and banking platforms.
- Process treasury-related payments in accordance with delegated authorities.
- Liaise with banking partners on operational and service matters.
- Treasury Accounting & Reporting
- Allocate bank transactions daily
- Monitor unallocated transactions and liaise with Finance teams to resolve.
- Prepare treasury journals and reconciliations including bank guarantee fee recharges.
- Assist with month end treasury reporting.
- Foreign Exchange & Risk Management
- Carry out confirmation, settlement and recording of hedging instruments.
- Maintain hedge documentation and registers.
- Assist Treasury Manager in monitoring hedge positions and upcoming requirements.
- Bank Guarantee Management
- Manage the issuance / cancellation of bank guarantees for Projects.
- Maintain the bank guarantee register including carrying out month end reconciliations.
- Manage the payment of fees to the banks (review/reconcile).
- Manage subcontractor bonds and guarantees (store / release / monitor).
- Compliance & Controls
- Ensure adherence to UGL and Group Treasury policies.
- Maintain strong internal controls over treasury activities.
- Assist with continuous improvement of treasury processes and controls.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- 3–6 years’ experience in treasury, accounting, or finance
- Experience in infrastructure, construction, engineering, or project-based environments (preferred)
- Exposure to cash forecasting, banking, and financial instruments
