Trainer/Assessor - Mining Production

MacKellar is seeking an experienced Production Mining Trainer & Assessor to join our growing open cut mining operation at Nyngan, NSW.
This is a permanent full-time position on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Brisbane, with accommodation and meals provided.

About the role:
You’ll be responsible for delivering practical training, coaching and competency assessments to production operators across a range of mobile mining equipment.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Training and assessing operators on haul trucks, dozers, graders, water trucks, excavators and other mobile equipment
• Conducting inductions, practical assessments and competency-based training
• Delivering refresher training and operator upskilling
• Assessing competency against relevant RII units and site requirements
• Maintaining accurate training and competency records
• Working with supervisors and operational leaders to identify training needs
• Promoting safe, compliant and efficient operating practices

About you: You’ll have proven experience delivering training and assessments within an open cut mining environment, along with:

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – TAE40116 or current equivalent
• Previous experience as a Mining Trainer, Assessor, Production Trainer or similar
• Current RII competencies across mobile mining equipment
• Strong knowledge of open cut mining and production operations
• Excellent communication and coaching skills
• The ability to build rapport with operators at varying experience levels
• A strong commitment to safety, compliance and quality training outcomes
