About the Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Trainer and Assessor to play a key role in developing workforce capability, training systems and competency frameworks during the establishment of a major mining operation. Working closely with leaders and site personnel, you will help ensure employees have the skills, knowledge and confidence to work safely and effectively.

Reporting to the OH&S Superintendent, you will support the implementation and continual improvement of training and competency systems, deliver practical training programs and maintain compliance with statutory and site requirements. Your contribution will help establish a culture focused on safety, accountability and continuous improvement from day one.

Roster and Location

Working on a FIFO roster, you will join a close-knit project team where your contribution will be visible, valued and directly linked to operational readiness and project success.

This role offers the opportunity to influence workforce capability during a critical stage of mine development while gaining exposure to diverse operational activities and future career growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver site inductions, mandatory training and competency assessments
  • Develop and maintain training materials, assessment tools and competency frameworks
  • Coordinate training activities across operational departments
  • Monitor workforce competency compliance and address capability gaps
  • Maintain training records, competency registers and learning systems
  • Produce competency reports
  • Support internal and external audits through effective training governance
  • Coach and mentor employees and leaders to strengthen capability and safety performance

About You

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent)
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Experience delivering training and competency programs within mining or similar industrial environments
  • Demonstrated experience conducting competency assessments and workforce development initiatives
  • Experience operating and training heavy mobile equipment
  • Strong understanding of training governance, compliance and competency-based assessment
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems and maintaining training records
  • Strong communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills
