Undercarriage Repairer
Reporting to the Undercarriage Manager, the Undercarriage Component Repairer will join our South Guildford Workshop on a full-time basis. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys mechanical, process-driven work and wants to build their career with an OEM known for quality, development, and long-term opportunities.
You’ll be responsible for disassembling, assessing, repairing and reassembling Caterpillar undercarriage components, including operating welding equipment. This position works on a structured rotating roster of day and afternoon shifts.
Roster
5 days on, 2 days off
2 weeks day shift (6:00am – 2:30pm)
2 weeks afternoon shift (2:00pm – 10:30pm)
What You’ll DoOur Undercarriage Repair Team specialises in the inspection, maintenance, and restoration of critical Cat® undercarriage systems used in heavy machinery and tracked equipment. We focus on safety, precision, and durability to ensure our customers can rely on high-performing equipment in demanding environments.
- Disassemble, assess and reassemble Caterpillar undercarriage components
- Carry out process-based work on an assembly-line style workflow
- Operate welding machinery to complete repairs
- Work both indoors and outdoors — some components are stored and processed outside
- Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a strong safety culture
Skills & Experience
- Forklift Licence – Essential
- Dogging qualification – Preferred, not essential
- Welding experience beneficial but not essential
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work in a non-airconditioned workshop environment
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks and shift work
- Willingness to work overtime as required
