Trade Assistant

About the Role

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, FlexiCooling Services is seeking motivated Trade Assistants to join our team at our Perth Airport facility. This full-time opportunity offers hands-on work in a fast-paced workshop and yard environment, where you’ll support a variety of tasks focused on overhauling radiators and cooling systems for mining equipment.

In this role, you’ll be a key part of the team, helping to keep operations running efficiently by supporting day-to-day workshop activities, meeting production deadlines, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

FlexiCooling Services provides a specialised environment where you can develop and strengthen your skills as part of a supportive team. Our work includes:

• Radiator overhauls and refurbishment
• Cooling system repairs
• Heat exchanger repairs
• Component cleaning, inspection, and reassembly

Roster & Hours

• 5 on, 2 off Monday to Friday (10-hour days 5:00am–3:30pm or 6:00am–4:30pm)

What You’ll Do

• Assist with daily workload to meet production targets, deadlines, and schedules
• Operate forklifts to move components, load/unload trucks, and manage materials
• Wrap, strap, and prepare parts for dispatch
• Perform vehicle pre-starts and yard duties
• Wash components, including radiator cores, and operate cleaning/testing equipment
• Support mechanics and technicians with repairs and maintenance tasks
• Conduct parts running, including deliveries across workshop sites
• Assist with inspections, quality control, and documentation
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
• Contribute to efficient yard and workshop operations

Skills & Experience

• Current Forklift Licence (HRWL) – essential
• Dogging licence – desirable
• Previous experience in a trade assistant, workshop, or yard role
• Exposure to machinery or mechanical environments (highly regarded)
• Strong commitment to safety and following procedures
• Ability to work both independently and within a team
• Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
• Reliable with a strong work ethic and ability to adapt to changing priorities
