Blackwater is a rural town and locality in the Central Highlands Region, Queensland, Australia. It is a town in a significant coal mining area in Central Queensland. The name of the township was inspired by the dark colour of local waterholes. A Mining town where generally everyone looks out for each other.

About the Role

Location: Blackwater, QLD, 4717 Roster: 5/2

Reporting to the Construction Coordinator, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated team. The role will require you to:

• Respond to requests for repairs and maintenance
• Conduct regular repairs and maintenance on Yarrabee owned housing.
• Removal/movement of company furniture when required.
• Respond to requests for repairs and maintenance on building facilities on site at Yarrabee Mine.
• Complete improvement projects as approved by the Construction coordinator.
• Other tasks to support the Construction Coordinator as required.
• Comply with all Site SHMS requirements when conducting tasks on site.
• Comply with all WH&S requirements when conducting tasks.

Qualifications

• Current open drivers licence
• Construction Trade Qualification (preferred)
• Current Standard 11 Induction (preferred)
• Current Qld Coal Board Medical (preferred)
• General Construction Induction – White Card or Blue Card

Experience

• Experience and/or general knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Building repair and maintenance, Carpentry, Painting or Tiling
• Proven experience in think quickly and problem solving
• Detailed understanding of WH&S legislation and requirements

Skills

• Good communication skills
• Ability to manage your own time in order to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently
