Newmont Tanami is located on Aboriginal freehold land approximately 540km northwest of Alice Springs and is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset within a core Newmont region.
The Tanami Expansion 2 (TE2) project is extending mine life beyond 2040 through the development of a hoisting shaft, increasing underground production from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Strong underground exploration results and the successful delivery of the first Tanami Expansion have positioned Tanami as a major contributor to the Newmont global portfolio.
A fully equipped accommodation village is located 40km from site, offering a range of leisure facilities for employees flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.

Your Impact
As a Team Lead Networks Digital, you'll lead the deployment, maintenance and optimisation of critical network and communications infrastructure that supports safe and reliable mining operations. Working closely with site, regional and corporate stakeholders, you'll ensure high-performing, secure and scalable digital networks that enable operational efficiency today and support future growth.
- Lead the implementation, maintenance and optimisation of site network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, microwave, Cellular/Wi-Fi and communication systems.
- Develop and coordinate preventative maintenance programs to maximise network reliability and minimise unplanned downtime.
- Monitor network performance, identify improvement opportunities and deliver infrastructure upgrades and expansion projects.
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships to ensure service levels, performance standards and project outcomes are achieved.
- Lead, mentor and develop team members while ensuring compliance with organisational policies, cybersecurity requirements and industry standards
Prerequisites for Success in This Role
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
- Significant experience in IT infrastructure, network operations and communications systems within a complex operational environment.
- Strong technical expertise across LAN, WAN, microwave and wireless communication networks, including network performance optimisation.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing vendors and delivering infrastructure projects and upgrades.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement, problem-solving and cybersecurity capabilities, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
Your Work Environment
This permanent position is offered on a 8days on 6days off roster rotation and is based at Newmont's Tanami operation in the Northern Territory.
As a fly-in, fly-out operation, Tanami provides modern camp accommodation and facilities while on site. You'll work alongside multidisciplinary teams supporting one of Australia's premier underground gold mining operations.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to a safety-focused culture that values teamwork, innovation and continuous improvement in a technically challenging and unique operating environment.
Reporting to the Lead Digital, you'll lead a team of network professionals and work closely with site leadership, operational teams, internal technology specialists, project teams and business service functions. You'll also partner with OEMs, technology providers, service providers and contractors to ensure reliable delivery of critical network and communications services across the operation
