About the Company
Hays has partnered with a leading resources organisation to recruit an experienced IT Systems Engineer for a site-based contract role at Hail Creek in Central Queensland. This role sits within a close-knit on-site technology team supporting critical systems and infrastructure across a regional mining environment.
About the Role
As the IT Systems Engineer, you will provide hands-on technical support across Microsoft systems, server administration, virtualisation, hardware, networking fundamentals and on-site user support. You will help maintain system availability, troubleshoot day-to-day issues, support site operations and work closely with internal teams, vendors and service providers where required.
This is a practical, site-focused infrastructure role suited to someone who is comfortable working autonomously, building strong relationships on-site and contributing to a stable, supportive team environment. The position is based at Hail Creek on a Monday to Friday roster, with on-site attendance required.
What you'll need to succeed
- Microsoft administration experience, including Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy
- VMware or virtualisation support experience
- Hardware, PC builds, troubleshooting and onsite user support experience
- General networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, routing and switching fundamentals
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a site-based environment
- A practical, team-focused approach with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- You will also need to be based locally to Hail Creek, Mackay, the Whitsundays or Townsville region
