Systems Administrator

Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for a Systems Administrator in Bungendore to work on marine projects**.**

What You’ll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:

• Providing Level 1 and 2 Systems Administrator support.

• Contribute to network design, implementation, configuration and troubleshooting.

• Providing hardware, software and network interface testing and end-user support practices.

• Effectively communicating technical and non-technical issues with system users, software engineers, database administrators, testers.

What You’ll Bring 

• Hands‑on support responsibilities, experience with RH Linux and Windows, including previous experience in level 1 and 2 System Administrator support.
• Extensive experience with computer hardware, software and network design, configuration and troubleshooting methods and procedures including developing plans and schedules, estimating resource requirements.
• Experience supporting a wide range of Information Assurance and maintenance to carry out assignments and support operations of cyber system IT architecture.
• Knowledge of relational databases and its uses in analysing reports of software application and data problems with large relational databases
• Knowledge of SCIF protocols.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
