We operate two long-life assets: Golden Grove in Western Australia and Capricorn Copper in Queensland, along with a portfolio of exploration interests, including a strategic tenement package and a project in Redhill, Chile.
Golden Grove is a high-grade underground mining operation producing copper, zinc, and precious metals. With a mine life exceeding 10 years, it has strong potential for further extension. The site is currently undergoing an expansion, including the development of a new mine, the extension of existing operations, and major infrastructure upgrades.
About the Role
What this Role Offers
- Drive and support a well-established and high-performing survey function.
- Contribute to expansion projects at Golden Grove (greenfield and brownfield).
- An existing platform and new surface control network to explore and improve.
An opportunity has arisen for a Survey Superintendent to join our Golden Grove operation in Western Australia. In this role, you will report to the Technical Services Manager and work on a split 8:6 and 4:3 roster.
Your focus will be on providing leadership and governance of the survey function, ensuring the delivery of accurate spatial information, statutory compliance, and surveying services that support safe and efficient mining operations.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Leading the mine surveying function as Authorised Mine Surveyor, providing technical and statutory oversight.
- Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, company standards, and safe surveying practices.
- Managing spatial data, survey records, mine plans, and control networks across surface and underground operations.
- Developing and improving surveying standards, systems, and processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Supporting mine planning and operations through technical review, risk identification, and accurate spatial information.
- Leading, mentoring, and developing the Survey team to build capability and performance.
About You / Requirements
Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in hard rock surveying, including previous experience in senior or superintendent-level roles.
- Tertiary Degree or Advanced Diploma in Mine Surveying or equivalent.
- Extensive experience underground hard rock surveying experience.
- Strong mining software experience (preferably Deswik including MDM), including examples of improving workflows and work processes.
- WA WHS Authorised Mine Surveyor Certificate (Grade 1).
- Previous experience as a Senior Mine Surveyor or Superintendent.
- C Class Manual Drivers Licence.
- Experience establishing survey practices and processes at a new mine site (desirable).
- Experience with civil earthworks and construction (desirable).
- WA Underground Shift Supervisor Certificate of Competency (desirable).
Qualifications & Certifications
- WA WHS Authorised Mine Surveyor Certificate (Grade 1)
- C Class Manual Drivers Licence
