Description & Requirements

Monadelphous is currently seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor to join our team on a major Oil & Gas project in Karratha, Western Australia, working on a 2:1 FIFO roster. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing project team and play a key role in the successful delivery of welding, fabrication and construction activities on a major resources project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage welding crews to achieve project targets safely and efficiently.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily welding and fabrication activities.
  • Plan and coordinate work fronts in line with project schedules and construction priorities.
  • Ensure welding activities are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and procedures.
  • Ensure welders are appropriately qualified and competent for the work being undertaken.
  • Monitor welding productivity, quality and progress against project schedules.
  • Coordinate welding inspections, NDT and quality control activities with the Quality team.
  • Ensure compliance with WPS/PQR requirements, ITPs, weld maps and project documentation.
  • Identify and resolve welding, fabrication and construction issues.
  • Liaise with Construction, Engineering, Quality and HSE teams to maintain efficient work fronts.
  • Conduct pre-starts, toolbox meetings and workforce communications.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all activities.
  • Ensure all work complies with Monadelphous and client HSE requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting relating to welding activities and progress.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and support to trades and apprentices where required.
  • Monitor workmanship and ensure activities are completed to the required quality, schedule and budget.

What you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years' experience within welding, fabrication and construction, with significant supervisory experience.
  • Experience with WPS/PQR, ITPs, weld maps and NDT.
  • Relevant trade qualifications and supervisory tickets/certifications as required for the project.
  • Previous experience working as a Welding Supervisor, Welding Foreman or leading hand on major projects.
  • Demonstrated experience within the Oil & Gas, LNG, resources, energy or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of welding and fabrication processes.
  • Sound understanding of welding procedures, inspection and quality requirements
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and project documentation.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively with Project Management, Engineering, Quality, HSE and construction teams.
  • Previous FIFO experience.
  • Ability and willingness to work a 2:1 FIFO roster in Karratha, WA.
