We are seeking an experienced Supervisor to join our Production team at Pannawonica. The successful candidate will influence and drive positive leadership to our dynamic teams of mine operators, enabling them to meet safe productivity, cost, and quality requirements to achieve targets within our operations.

Your Role

We are seeking an experienced Supervisor to join our Production team at Pannawonica. The successful candidate will influence and drive positive leadership to our dynamic teams of mine operators, enabling them to meet safe productivity, cost, and quality requirements to achieve targets within our operations.

Reporting to the Superintendent, residential to Pannawonica you will:

  • Be an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviours, practices and processes, whilst providing leadership, development and support to your team.
  • Implement production operation plan to maximize productivity while minimizing cost and environmental impact.
  • Complete daily inspections of the pit and drive a positive safety culture with your team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders to align on operational plans and strategies.
  • Execute the daily and weekly mine plan

What you’ll bring

  • Prior experience in a mining production environment
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities to deliver solutions across an operation
  • Statutory Position Legal Exam – Statutory Supervisor
  • Current WA ‘C’ Class – Manual License

Where you’ll be working

Robe Valley Operations, located on Robe River Kuruma Country, is close to the community of Pannawonica in the scenic Pilbara region, approximately 200km south-west of Karratha. The operation comprises two key sites: Mesa A, which is primarily fly-in-fly-out, and Mesa J, which is strongly supported by a residential workforce living in Pannawonica.

Rio Tinto provides subsidised housing for residential employees and their families looking to enjoy a comfortable and laid-back lifestyle with modern amenities including a supermarket, cafe, medical centre, community gym, youth centre, and a primary school that also supports secondary education through supervised distance learning for older children.
