Our Opportunity
**Work Location:**Hedland Operations, Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: 4 Days / 4 Nights / 8 Off | FIFO ex Perth or residentially based in Port Hedland
As a key leader within Hedland Operations, you will play an integral role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient processing and product handling operations across the supply chain. You will lead high-performing teams while driving operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate processing personnel to maximise plant productivity, operational efficiency, and team performance.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on daily operational performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimisation.
- Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and operational standards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members through ongoing coaching, training, and performance support.
- Manage stockyard operations to maintain continuity across the supply chain and support shipping requirements.
- Ensure compliance with TML requirements while maintaining Shipping Grade A cargo standards.
- Support COA and ISO compliance by ensuring LQL targets are achieved through SPF processes.
- Collaborate effectively with port operations and broader supply chain stakeholders to proactively resolve operational challenges impacting productivity.
- Provide regular operational updates and performance reporting to leadership teams.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture focused on accountability, attendance, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all mooring evolutions are executed safely and efficiently, supporting the reduction of exposure to tensioned line risks.
Qualifications and Experience
We are seeking motivated and safety-focused leaders who thrive in dynamic operational environments and are passionate about developing people and driving performance.
You will bring:
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within processing, manufacturing, port, or heavy industry operations.
- Strong understanding of operational processes, quality assurance, and safety management systems.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to build engaged, high-performing teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use operational data to drive improvement outcomes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in magnetite product handling operations.
- SAP experience.
- Wharf or port operations experience will be highly regarded.
- Relevant qualifications in operations management, logistics, processing, or a related discipline are advantageous.
