ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent position on a 42-hour dayshift / nightshift roster, at our Boddington Bauxite Mine reporting to the Superintendent Execution (Mobile Maintenance).

Please note that accommodation is not provided on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out to site on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Boddington.

As the Supervisor Mobile Maintenance, you will lead a maintenance crew over the entire operation and ensure maintenance activities are safely executed against schedules, plans, and specified standards.

Key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

• Provide day-to-day leadership, expertise and direction as per the South 32’s Leadership Accountability Model to a Maintenance Execution team to ensure delivery against plans
• Identify, build and develop team capability through ongoing and regular coaching and development
• Review the plan for the next day and commit to the next day’s work, rescheduling as required
• Handover to the next team and set them up for success by handing over the area and rescheduled plan with integrity
• Ensure timely updates of resource work centre capacity data to enable effective scheduling.
• Ensure timely evaluation and scoping of work requests prior to approval for the work management planning process.
• Plan the shift work for the team, so the team is competent to execute the work guaranteeing their safety
• Review and update plans and equipment history and communicate status to appropriate parties.
• Conduct various audits including field audits of equipment; ensuring audits are documented and communicating findings
• Participate in the weekly pre-planning, planning and scheduling meetings to ensure alignment and commitment of resources to the work schedule.
• Conduct regular compliance checks to ensure adherence to 1SAP processes and work instructions, and the entering of the relevant transactional data in 1SAP.
• Manage and review events and ensure that escalation protocols are complied with.
• Provide input into the development of maintenance work strategies.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:  

• Significant experience at supervisory level with a demonstrated capability to successfully lead a team, influence others and performance manage a team
• Self-reliant contributor with distinctive proficiency in a maintenance area and detailed knowledge of related procedures.
• Intermediate proficiency in computer applications such as SAP and Microsoft Office
• Ability to follow safety and operating procedures, handle unit emergencies and communicate appropriately
• Ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels and disciplines
• Ability to multi-task, problem solve and manage competing priorities

Qualifications for this position are:  

• Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor Qualification
• Recognised trade qualification or significant supervisory experience in a Mobile Maintenance environment
