The Role

• Oversee installation, maintenance and fault-finding of underground electrical infrastructure (1000V/415V), substations and distribution systems
• Lead, mentor and supervise the Underground Electrical team
• Drive a strong safety culture aligned with Westgold values
• Ensure reliability of mobile fleet electrical systems including drills, jumbos and loaders
• Manage preventative maintenance, breakdown response and shutdown planning
• Maintain critical infrastructure including dewatering systems, ventilation fans and communication networks
• Coordinate statutory electrical compliance, testing and documentation to relevant standards
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to align maintenance strategies with production targets
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve asset performance
• Manage maintenance planning, scheduling and reporting using CMMS systems

About You / Requirements

Essential:

• Unrestricted WA Electrical Licence
• Current “C” Class Manual Driver’s Licence
• LVR/CPR Certification
• Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor
• Minimum 8 – 10 years’ experience in underground mining electrical roles
• Previous supervisory experience in a mining environment
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics
• Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and electrical standards
• Proficient Microsoft office skills

Desirable:

• HV Switching Ticket
• Experience with RCT Teleremote and automation systems
• Instrumentation and PLC experience
• High Risk Work Licences (EWP, Forklift, Working at Heights)
• Experience with CMMS systems (e.g. Pronto)

Qualifications & Certifications
