  • Build strong partnerships across the mine and broader business to resolve challenges and deliver customer-focused outcomes.
  • Improve operational performance through effective resource planning, workforce utilisation, schedule discipline and execution reliability across underground mining activities.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives through BHP Operating System (BOS) practices and routines, with a focus on safety, operational performance, culture and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure material risks are effectively managed through robust critical control execution, verification and compliance practices.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

You are an experienced underground mining leader who is passionate about building high-performing teams and creating an environment where people feel valued, respected and safe to speak up. You bring practical leadership experience across Mine Services, underground production or underground development, with the ability to connect teams, remove barriers and deliver safe execution outcomes.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in an underground mining operation, with the ability to lead and engage large, diverse teams across multiple work groups, shifts and mining disciplines.
  • Required experience across underground Mine Services, Production or Development, including a strong understanding of how each function contributes to safe and reliable mine execution.
  • Experience developing team capability through coaching, mentoring and leadership development.
  • A strong commitment to safety leadership, risk management and critical control effectiveness.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across operational and technical teams to achieve shared outcomes.
  • Sound contractor management experience and an understanding of operational performance and service delivery expectations.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a delivery-focused approach to achieving business objectives.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
  • A First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency will be advantageous.
