About the Company

MinRes is a leading diversified resources company with extensive operations in lithium, iron ore, energy and mining services across Western Australia. With a focus on people and innovation, MinRes has become one of the ASX’s best-performing companies since listing in 2006.

At MinRes, the future's bright. Be part of our next chapter.

About Wodgina

The Wodgina lithium is a world class hard rock lithium asset, located 120km south of Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. MinRes manages all mining operations at Wodgina, including a spodumene concentrate processing plant with an annual capacity of 900,000 tonnes (SC5.5).

The Opportunity

The Geology Superintendent – Wodgina will be responsible for leading all site-based mine geology and Resource Reconciliation & Grade Control (RCGC) functions, ensuring accurate and timely geological information underpins safe, efficient, and optimised mining operations.

As the critical link between the Resource model and the excavator face, you will maximise ore recovery, minimise dilution, and deliver confidence in reconciliation outcomes. Leading a high-calibre geology team, you will drive technical excellence, integrate geological knowledge into operational decision-making, and provide the geological foundation for short, and medium-term mine planning.

This site-based FIFO role operates on a 4/3 roster from Perth

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end RCGC program across all active pits, including grade control drilling design, sampling, QAQC, and short-term geological modelling
  • Lead the Model-Mine-Mill reconciliation process analysing variances, identifying trends, and communicating improvement actions to stakeholders.
  • Oversee all geological mapping, pit face documentation, logging, and data capture across active mining areas, ensuring rigorous data management standards are maintained.
  • Provide geological input into blast design, dig sequencing, bench design, ore feed forecasting, and blending strategies in collaboration with Mining Engineering and Processing teams.
  • Collaborate with corporate Resource Geology to feed operational insights back into Resource models, supporting ongoing model refinement and Ore Reserve updates.
  • Manage the geology department budget, drilling program scheduling, and contractor relationships to ensure cost-effective delivery of geological services.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a team of senior geologists, mine geologists, grade control geologists, and geological technicians.
  • Champion a safety-first culture

About You / Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Geology or a related technical field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a grade control and reconciliation program, preferably in hard-rock deposits.
  • Strong understanding of geostatistical methods, resource and grade control modelling principles, and reconciliation processes.
  • Comprehensive demonstrated skills in the use of geological 3D modelling software (Surpac, Leapfrog Geo, Vulcan, or similar).
  • Experience with geological database management systems (acQuire).
  • Practical understanding of QAQC protocols and their application to sampling and assay programs.
  • Strong understanding of mine planning processes and the ability to integrate geological knowledge into operational and planning workflows.
  • Experience participating in Hazard Identification / Risk Assessment processes.
  • Demonstrated experience liaising with drilling and laboratory contractors to achieve program objectives.
  • Effective budget planning and financial management skills.
  • Strong ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels to enhance deliverable outcomes.
  • Current WA 'C' Class driver's licence.
