About the Role
Stellar Recruitment is proud to partner with Boggabri Coal Mine (BCO) to appoint an experienced Statutory Compliance Manager.
Producing more than 7 million tonnes of coal annually, BCO is one of New South Wales' leading open-cut coal operations, with a mine life extending through to 2036. Located just 17 km from Boggabri and within commuting distance of Narrabri and Gunnedah, the operation offers the opportunity to enjoy a rewarding mining career while benefiting from the lifestyle and community of regional NSW.
The Statutory Compliance Manager leads the statutory mining engineering function at Boggabri Coal Operations, ensuring compliance with NSW mining legislation, the site’s Safety and Management Systems, and all regulatory obligations. As the appointed Statutory Compliance Manager, the role provides governance, technical leadership and expert advice to support safe, compliant and efficient mining operations.
The role leads the statutory engineering team, including Statutory Superintendents and the Compliance Coordinator, providing leadership, coaching and performance management while working closely with operational leaders, regulators and contractors to manage risk and statutory obligations.
The position supports the sustainable performance of the operation through engineering governance, audit and assurance activities, continuous improvement and effective stakeholder engagement, ensuring statutory compliance and operational excellence.
What we’re looking for:
- You hold current NSW statutory Mining Engineering Manager (MEM) ticket
- Extensive experience in open cut mining operations and mining engineering leadership
- Demonstrated experience fulfilling statutory obligations under NSW mining legislation.
- Strong understanding of mine planning, operational risk management, safety and environmental management systems.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Strong knowledge of mining compliance, governance, auditing and regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated capability in strategic planning, decision making and continuous improvement.
