We are looking for a Specialist Communities & Social Performance (CSP) engagement to join our team based in Gladstone. The role leads Rio Tinto’s community engagement activities in Gladstone, which are foundational activities for building and maintaining robust relationships and a strong social licence.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of Rio Tinto’s community engagement strategy in Gladstone
- Work closely with CSP Business Partner and CSP, asset and functional teams to understand their community engagement needs and work collaboratively with them to plan and deliver regular engagements, events and topic-specific engagement (e.g. community investment events, Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management - GISTM, Social and Economic Impact Assessment -SEIA, emergency planning, studies)
- Build strong relationships with a broad range of community, industry and local government stakeholders across Gladstone and represent Rio Tinto at external forums and events
- Lead annual community perception monitoring via Local Voices
- Ensure engagement activities comply with the requirements of the Rio Tinto CSP Standard and guidance
What you will bring
- Tertiary qualification in social sciences or equivalent
- 4 plus years of experience in CSP discipline, particularly planning and delivering stakeholder engagement activities
- Proven ability to listen, communicate, work collaboratively and develop positive relationships with stakeholders
- Experience with stakeholder complaints management and support
- Skills and experience in influencing internal and external stakeholders, project management, compliance and risk management
- Ability to project manage engagement related work and be self-motivated to drive outcomes
- Experience in developing relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve results, including attending and presenting at events
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your colleagues

- Ability to manage complex and conflicting priorities
