About the Role
Build the infrastructure powering Australia's digital future. UGL is seeking a Site Engineer – Fire Systems to support the delivery of a major data centre project in Melbourne. Working within UGL's integrated delivery model alongside CPB Contractors, you'll take ownership of fire systems subcontractor management, ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality delivery of fire services from installation through to testing, commissioning and handover. This is an opportunity to work on technically complex, mission-critical projects while accessing the global expertise of ACS Group, HOCHTIEF, Turner and Leighton Asia.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the fire services subcontractor across all phases of construction.
- Monitor safety, quality, programme and productivity outcomes.
- Coordinate fire systems installation with structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical disciplines.
- Review and resolve design, constructability and interface issues.
- Support inspections, compliance requirements, testing, commissioning and project reporting.
- Build strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants and project stakeholders.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, codes and data centre performance requirements.
About You
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Experience delivering fire protection systems on major building or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of wet fire, dry fire and fire detection systems.
- Data centre experience highly regarded.
- Alternatively, experience on complex projects such as hospitals, defence, airports, laboratories or large commercial developments.
- Proven subcontractor management and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Familiarity with testing, commissioning and compliance processes.
