Job Description
About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced Shotfirers and Blast Hole Drillers for ongoing FIFO mining projects operating on a 2/1 FIFO roster from Perth. These are excellent opportunities to join established mining operations with competitive rates, long-term work, and supportive site teams.
Shotfirer Responsibilities
- Charging and firing blast holes safely and efficiently
- Handling and transporting explosives in accordance with site procedures
- Conducting blast tie-ins and shot preparation
- Completing blast documentation and compliance checks
- Working closely with drill crews and supervisors
- Maintaining strict safety and environmental standards
Blast Hole Driller Responsibilities
- Operating D65 blast hole drill rigs safely and productively
- Conducting pre-start inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Drilling to design and maintaining accurate hole alignment and depth
- Monitoring ground conditions and reporting hazards
- Working collaboratively with production and drill & blast crews
The success candidates MUST have:
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
- Current Shotfirers Licence
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
- National Police Clearance (or willing to obtain)
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
