About the Role

Shotfirers – Tier One Iron Ore Expansion Project Early September Start | FIFO 8:6 / 7:7 Roster | 12-Month Project

We are currently seeking experienced Shotfirers to join a major Tier One Iron Ore Expansion Project commencing in early September.

This is an outstanding opportunity to secure long-term work on a high-profile iron ore operation, working within a well-established Drill & Blast team and contributing to a significant expansion project.

The Role Reporting to the Drill & Blast Supervisor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading, tie-in, initiation, and firing of production blasts while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely load and charge blast holes in accordance with blast designs
  • Conduct tie-ins and prepare blasts for firing
  • Handle, transport, and store explosives in compliance with legislative and site requirements
  • Complete blast inspections and quality checks
  • Maintain accurate blast records and documentation
  • Follow all site safety, environmental, and compliance procedures
  • Work collaboratively with Drill & Blast, Mining, and Technical Services teams

About You / Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Shotfirer within a production mining environment
  • Current Shotfirer's Licence
  • Current Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC)
  • Dangerous Goods Driver's Licence (highly regarded)
  • Extensive experience in drill and blast operations
  • Experience with blast loading, tie-ins, and initiation systems
  • Strong understanding of explosives handling and storage requirements
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment
  • Current and relevant mining tickets and certifications
  • Ability to meet site medical and onboarding requirements
