About the Company

Copper Refineries are currently seeking suitably qualified applicants for the role of 2x Shift Refinery Maintainer – Electrician’s to join the Refinery Maintenance Department. This is a residential Townsville, on a 4/4 roster, 12 hour day shift. You will work closely with frontline teams and leaders to embed safe work practices, drive improvements and influence positive safety culture outcomes.

About the role

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, this position plays a critical role in delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective electrical maintenance across the copper refining operation. You will gain exposure to a broad range of electrical and instrumentation activities within a complex industrial environment, while contributing to reliable production performance and statutory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical maintenance activities within a team environment to achieve maintenance and production KPIs
  • Carry out preventative maintenance, fault finding, breakdown response, and corrective repairs
  • Undertake electrical installation and project work across refinery assets
  • Maintain compliance with electrical statutory requirements and site safety standards
  • Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to support continuous improvement

About You

You are a trade-qualified Electrician who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship in a safety-critical industrial environment. You are self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working rotating day and night shifts as part of a team. With a strong commitment to safe work practices and good interpersonal skills, you contribute positively to team performance and operational reliability while continuing to develop your technical capability within an industrial maintenance setting.

You will bring

  • Trade qualification as an Electrician with a current Queensland Electrical Mechanic Licence
  • A high standard of safety awareness and commitment to a strong safety culture
  • A proactive, flexible approach with a strong work ethic
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Certificate III or IV in Instrumentation (highly regarded)
  • Experience in fixed plant maintenance and automated machinery (desirable)
  • Exposure to industrial process control, instrumentation maintenance and calibration (desirable)
  • Experience with LV motor control, VVVF drives, and HV switchgear/switching (desirable)
