Senior / Lead Control Systems Engineer – Perth Location: Perth (South of the River)
Work Type: Permanent or Contract options available
Travel: Perth-based with occasional site travel

Key Responsibilities

  • Take technical ownership of control system scope across multiple projects
  • Design and implement control systems solutions aligned with client requirements and industry standards
  • PLC and SCADA programming across platforms including:
    • Siemens
    • Rockwell / Allen Bradley
    • Ignition
    • Citect
  • Prepare high-quality technical documentation:
    • Functional specifications
    • Reports and procedures
    • Test and commissioning documentation
  • Support site work, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
  • Collaborate closely with clients and internal project teams

Experience & Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical, Control Systems, Mechatronics, or similar
  • Proven experience in control systems engineering roles
  • Strong PLC and/or SCADA programming capability
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and develop control system designs
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Clear communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Highly Regarded

  • Experience in:
    • Mineral processing
    • Bulk materials handling
    • Stockyard systems
  • Exposure to:
    • Functional safety
    • OT / industrial networks
    • Virtualised environments
  • Additional scripting or technical skills (e.g. Python, PowerShell, Linux)
