We have a challenging but rewarding Senior Training Advisor position awaiting you at the iconic KCGM Superpit that boasts a +10-year mine life. Promising a long term and fulfilling future, your journey begins in a dynamic work environment with the Open Pit Training team at our Open Pit Mine on a family friendly Kalgoorlie-based residential 7:7 roster, 12.5-hour day shifts.

Here’s what awaits you:

  • Providing field proficiency training which is compliant to the national, corporate and legislative standards and improving operator skills base in the Open Pit – Load and Haul department at KCGM.

  • Observing operators’ current skill level, identifying skills gaps requiring attention, delivering one on one training and instruction to increase operator understanding and application of specific machine operations.

  • Ensuring competency and compliance levels of those KCGM Open Pit personnel involved with training development, delivery and assessment are appropriately skilled and competent.

  • Completing and maintaining all required proficiency reports, footage and documentation related to training, ensuring that records are complete, thorough and accurate, and that confidentiality is maintained.

  • Coordinating and liaising observations requirements – Machinery/Dispatch/Supervisors.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of experience, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – TAE 40116, Certificate III - Surface Extraction Operations, Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.

Experience: Must have experience in Grader/Support Loaders/Impact rollers, Dozer – CAT/Liebherr/Track/Wheel, Excavator (High precision), Production Loaders, Production Excavator (400+ Ton), Production Shovel (600+ Ton)

Desired Experience: Minimum of 5 year in a similar Training role, Minimum 5-year relevant experience in the mining industry (desired), Working knowledge of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations, Familiarity with INX database modules such as Intuition, Mining technology and heavy production equipment, Demonstrated experience in competency-based training and assessment methods, Ability to communicate effectively across all levels (Face to face/email/teams), Effective delivery of field training, Strong presentation skills, Basic understanding Microsoft office .
