About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Sub-Contracts Specialist to support the formation and administration of construction and engineering contracts across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role is responsible for managing the full contract lifecycle, from tender preparation and subcontract award through to contract administration, change management, and close-out, ensuring contractual compliance and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation, issue, and evaluation of tender and bid documentation.
  • Develop, negotiate, and execute subcontract and service agreements.
  • Prepare bidder lists, coordinate pre-qualification activities, and manage tender clarifications.
  • Conduct commercial evaluations of bids and provide award recommendations.
  • Administer assigned contracts throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, progress, and commercial outcomes.
  • Manage contract variations, amendments, and claims while supporting commercial negotiations.
  • Coordinate with project teams to resolve contractual and commercial issues.
  • Prepare contract documentation, reports, meeting agendas, and meeting minutes.
  • Facilitate pre-tender, clarification, and contract award meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify contractual risks and provide proactive recommendations to minimise project exposure.
  • Maintain accurate contract records and ensure adherence to company policies and governance requirements.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Commerce, Law, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 8+ years' experience in contracts, procurement, commercial, or subcontract management within construction, infrastructure, energy, or resources projects.
  • Strong understanding of contract formation, contract administration, and commercial management principles.
  • Experience preparing and evaluating tenders and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Knowledge of contract variations, claims management, and subcontract performance monitoring.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and manage contractual risks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • High level of organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
