Senior Project Engineer Mechanical

Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join Rio Tinto's Sustaining Capital team in Weipa.

This site-based role will see you lead mechanical project packages across a range of infrastructure and operational projects, managing contractors, construction activities, procurement, quality assurance, commissioning and project delivery outcomes. This is an opportunity to work with Rio Tinto

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical project scopes from planning through to commissioning
• Manage contractors, safety, quality and compliance
• Coordinate procurement, materials and site resources
• Monitor schedules, costs and project performance
• Support testing, commissioning and handover activities
• Provide project reporting and stakeholder updates

About You

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years' project delivery experience within mining, resources, infrastructure or heavy industry
• Strong construction, contractor management and commissioning experience
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Safety-focused with strong commercial and problem-solving abilities
