Job Description
Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join Rio Tinto's Sustaining Capital team in Weipa.
This site-based role will see you lead mechanical project packages across a range of infrastructure and operational projects, managing contractors, construction activities, procurement, quality assurance, commissioning and project delivery outcomes. This is an opportunity to work with Rio Tinto
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver mechanical project scopes from planning through to commissioning
- Manage contractors, safety, quality and compliance
- Coordinate procurement, materials and site resources
- Monitor schedules, costs and project performance
- Support testing, commissioning and handover activities
- Provide project reporting and stakeholder updates
About You
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years' project delivery experience within mining, resources, infrastructure or heavy industry
- Strong construction, contractor management and commissioning experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Safety-focused with strong commercial and problem-solving abilities
