Senior Piping Engineer

Senior Piping Engineer Location: Perth initially (3 months), followed by site-based work (6 months)
Duration: 9-month assignment with potential to extend

PERSOL is currently seeking an experienced Senior Piping Engineer to support the delivery of a major 25km underground DN1050 steel pipeline project.

The assignment will initially be Perth based for approximately 3 months, supporting tenders, engineering reviews and preparation for site works. The following 6 months will be site based, supporting the site team and managing the installation contractor through the construction and delivery phase.

The Role As the Senior Piping Engineer, you will oversee and coordinate engineering and construction activities associated with the underground steel pipeline.

You will provide technical support throughout tendering, engineering review, construction and handover, working closely with project managers, contractors, consultants and engineering teams to ensure works are delivered in accordance with project requirements, relevant standards and safety expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate works associated with the 25km underground DN1050 steel pipeline
• Support tender activities, engineering reviews and site works preparation during the initial Perth-based phase
• Support the site team in managing the pipeline installation contractor during construction
• Interpret and review technical drawings, plans and specifications
• Provide technical support throughout construction and handover
• Maintain appropriate project documentation including red-line markups, test reports and as-built drawings
• Assist with the procurement and inspection of materials and equipment
• Identify potential technical issues, project delays or constraints and develop effective solutions
• Liaise with project managers, contractors, consultants and engineers to resolve design and implementation issues
• Conduct site inspections and ensure works comply with relevant codes, regulations and standards
• Monitor and report on construction progress, quality control and safety compliance
• Participate in HSE activities and actively promote safe work practices on site

About You

• Previous experience in a Senior Piping Engineer or Pipeline Engineer position
• Strong experience supporting pipeline engineering and construction activities
• Ability to interpret and review technical drawings, plans and specifications
• Experience providing technical support through construction and handover stages
• Strong contractor and stakeholder management capability
• Experience with construction documentation, quality control and site inspections
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical and delivery issues
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with project managers, contractors, consultants and engineering teams
• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental requirements
• Ability to work in Perth for the initial project phase before transitioning to site
