Senior Mine Geologist

MPI Recruitment

Perth, WA
FIFO
8/6

Job Description

You know your way around an open pit gold operation. You're comfortable with grade control, trusted by your peers, and probably already mentoring people around you. Now you're looking for a role where you can have a bigger impact without giving up the hands-on geology you enjoy.

This is an opportunity to join a well-established open pit gold operation as a Senior Mine Geologist, leading a capable team and taking ownership of your swing. Reporting to the Geology Superintendent within a back-to-back leadership structure, you'll have the autonomy to make decisions, influence outcomes and help develop the next generation of geologists and technicians.

Working an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth, you'll enjoy the balance that comes with a senior role, without the expectation of night shift work. With direct charter flights, quality camp facilities and a stable operation, you'll be able to focus on leading your team and delivering strong geological outcomes.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being part of the operation. You'll still spend time in the pit, work closely with mining teams and stay connected to the geology, while taking responsibility for grade control, ore control, reconciliation and production reporting. Your input will be valued, your experience will be trusted and your decisions will make a genuine contribution to mine performance.

You'll be joining an established geology team with clear direction, strong support and a collaborative culture. It's the type of environment where people are encouraged to take ownership, share ideas and continue developing professionally. Whether you're already operating at a Senior level or you're a strong Project Geologist ready for the next step, you'll have the opportunity to build both your technical and leadership skills.

Along with a competitive salary package, you'll benefit from direct charter flights, private ensuite accommodation, modern gym and recreational facilities, and access to an annual bonus program.

To Be Successful, You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years' experience in open pit gold mining
  • Strong ore control, reconciliation and production reporting experience
  • Previous leadership, mentoring or supervisory exposure, or a genuine desire to develop in this area
  • Proficiency using Surpac, with OrePro experience highly regarded
  • Bachelor of Science (Geology) or equivalent qualification
  • Current C class manual driver's licence.

If you're looking for a role where you'll be trusted to lead, supported to grow and still remain closely connected to the geology, we'd love to have a confidential conversation. Apply now or get in touch to learn more.
