Glencore Coal Assets Australia (GCAA) operate a number of established and consistently performing open cut coal operations located within the Hunter Coalfields in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales.
About the Role
As the Senior Mine Accountant, you will be an integral member of our site based Commercial Department. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, we are seeking an accounting professional to provide high level support and advice within the team.
Experienced at a senior level you will be supporting our Site Senior Leadership Team and providing timely value-adding guidance and insights helping to drive business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Month end management reporting of operational results and capital expenditure.
- Preparation and analysis of life of mine plans, budgets and forecasts.
- Undertaking capital project evaluation.
- Assisting cost owners in cost control and variance analysis.
- Mentoring less experienced Commercial team members
About You / Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce, accounting or equivalent.
- CPA or CA qualifications.
- Previous experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within the mining or heavy construction industries.
- Ability to build strong working relationships.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- A clear communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and problem solve.
- Experience working with information systems including ERP platforms (SAP preferred).
- Ability to mentor and support other members of the Commercial Department.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Tertiary qualifications in commerce, accounting or equivalent.
- CPA or CA qualifications
