About The Role
As a Senior Metallurgist, in this unique role you will be responsible for the model generation, optimisation, analysis, planning and scheduling of processing activities across production physicals and cost, including metal accounting.
This role will see you develop influential relationships with multiple functions and stakeholders, including senior leadership. You will be required to work directly with site leadership and operational and production departments.
This is an exceptional opportunity to develop in both a commercial and technical capacity, taking the next step into a senior role or expanding your current exposures.
This role is based flexibly between Adelaide and on-site at Carrapateena on a 4 days on / 3 days off FIFO roster ex-Adelaide.
In this role you will:
- Develop production planning models and plans across numerous time horizons
- Present and distribute plans to key internal stake holders
- Perform analysis of plant performance and provide recommendations to update metallurgical modelling assumptions
- Accountable for confirming alignment of plans and reconciled data cross all data platforms
- Own the metal accounting process, provide support to production metallurgy team on daily use and manage the execution of improvements and changes to the system
- Coordination of supporting processes required for reconciliation (Eg. Concentrate logistics data management, equipment certification)
- Perform reconciliation analysis and lead any internal investigations
- Coordination of routine testwork campaigns associated with shipment/maritime requirements
- Collate production budgets for consumables and other processing costs, development of models and key driver assumptions
- Performing analysis of processing costs against KVDs and escalating deviations from plan
A****bout You
- Previous experience in metal accounting systems and processes
- Understanding of planning processes.
- Hold tertiary qualification in chemical engineer, metallurgy or related field.
- Demonstrated production and / or concentrator experience
- Strong communication skills which facilitate effective engagement and communication at all levels
- Attention to detail and the demonstrated ability to work with data
- Experience with SAP is advantageous
