Senior Mechanical Engineer / Assistant Engineering Manager
Project: Huntly Holyoake Mine Relocation Project
Role Purpose An outstanding opportunity for a Senior Mechanical Engineer / Assistant Engineering Manager to step into a key leadership role on a major mine relocation project in Western Australia.
Acting as the senior mechanical authority, you will support the Project Engineering Manager during the Options Analysis phase, providing technical leadership, engineering governance, and coordination across a regulated mining environment. This role offers exposure to early‑stage project definition, technology evaluation, and high‑level engineering decision‑making.
Contract & Location
- Rate:$110 – $130 per hour + super
- Contract: 12 months | 40 hours per week
- Location: Booragoon‑based
- Site Travel: Approximately 1 day per week to Huntly Mine / Pinjarra
- Work from Home: Typically 1 day per week

Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior mechanical engineering leadership and technical assurance
- Support engineering governance, compliance, and assurance activities
- Contribute mechanical input to options analysis and concept development
- Support evaluation of new and emerging technologies
- Assist with cross‑discipline integration and design assurance
- Support the Project Engineering Manager with technical coordination and stakeholder engagement
Key Requirements
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Washington Accord recognised)
- 7+ years’ experience in mechanical engineering roles
- Strong background in engineering design and design management
- Experience in mining or mineral processing environments
- Ability to lead, influence, and communicate at a senior technical level
- Must be residing in / and have full work rights to work in Australia
