About the Opportunity
Our end client is a well-established engineering consultancy delivering design solutions across the resources and minerals processing sector. With a growing pipeline of sustaining capital and project delivery work, they are looking to strengthen their Perth-based design team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a range of process plant projects within a collaborative and technically strong team environment.
About the Role
An experienced Senior Mechanical Designer (Layout) is required to support ongoing project delivery within a multidisciplinary design team.
- Immediate or ASAP start available
- Contract engagement preferred
- Competitive hourly rate on offer, dependent on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality 2D and 3D design models and drawings from engineering inputs
- Develop process plant layouts from early-stage design data through to detailed design
- Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian and international standards
- Review vendor drawings and technical documentation
- Assist in managing design deliverables in line with project schedules and budgets
- Collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional teams
About You
- 6+ years’ experience in Mechanical Design/Drafting
- Strong process plant layout experience (materials handling and/or mineral processing)
- Exposure to commodities such as gold, copper, lithium, or similar
- Good understanding of fabrication and construction methods in heavy industry
- Proficiency in MicroStation (2D & 3D) or similar design tools
- Relevant qualifications in Engineering Design/Drafting
