Senior Finance Business Partner - Operations Support & Aftermarket

Our Opportunity

Location: Perth (with occasional site travel) – Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people

Roster: Monday to Friday

Join the Operations Support & Aftermarket function, supporting delivery of Fortescue’s operational and commercial objectives across Asset Management, Warehousing, Procurement, China Operations and the development of our emerging Aftermarket business.

Working closely with a broad stakeholder group across Operations, Asset Management, Supply Chain, Procurement, China Ops and Corporate teams, you will help translating strategic and commercial initiatives into executable delivery pathways across the portfolio.

This role operates as a bridge between financial control and commercial delivery, supporting the Principal FBP in day-to-day financial management while actively contributing to value delivery initiatives across the portfolio.

In the initial phase, the role will maintain end-to-end ownership of financial processes (including month-end close, journals and reporting), with scope to evolve as the team structure scales.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders across Operations Support & Aftermarket to support delivery of initiatives across cost (C1), capital efficiency and aftermarket revenue streams
• Support translation of strategic and commercial initiatives into executable delivery plans, tracking through to value realisation
• Provide financial insight to support decision-making, prioritisation and trade-offs
• Coordinate across Asset Management, Warehousing, Procurement and China Ops to enable cross-functional delivery outcomes
• Support the Principal FBP in maintaining financial integrity across the portfolio
• Own end-to-end month-end close processes, including journals, accruals and reporting
• Deliver budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
• Provide visibility and insight into cost performance and key drivers
• Support governance across headcount, capital and cost management
• Identify opportunities to streamline, automate and improve finance processes
• Support the evolution of the finance operating model as the team scales
• Contribute to building a fit-for-purpose structure balancing control and commercial delivery

Qualifications and Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in Management Accounting and business partnering roles
• Operational/Site experience preferred
• Strong financial acumen · Broad understanding of governance principles · Financial reporting · SAP (finance)
• Ability to identify and understand key business drivers to deliver insights and identify opportunities across multiple business units
• Ability to influence and drive change
• Finance or Commercial degree · CPA or CA qualifications
• Excellent analytical abilities and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with stakeholders
