Senior Exploration Geologist

Your new company

A well-established copper-gold mining operation in North Queensland is seeking two Senior Exploration Geologists to join their exploration team. Operating a large-scale underground mining project with significant regional exploration opportunities, the company is focused on identifying and advancing new copper-gold discoveries across a highly prospective mineral province.

Your new role

As a Senior Exploration Geologist, you will lead exploration programs across a large copper-gold project area, helping to identify and develop new mineral resources. You will be responsible for target generation, drill program planning and execution, geological interpretation, 3D modelling, and supervising field-based exploration activities. The role offers a blend of field and office-based work, along with leadership responsibilities managing geologists, technicians and contractors.

What you'll need to succeed

• Degree in Geology.
• Minimum 5+ years' exploration geology experience.
• Strong copper-gold (Cu-Au) exploration background.
• Experience generating and evaluating exploration targets.
• Proficiency with GIS and geological software such as Leapfrog, Micromine, QGIS or MapInfo.
• Experience managing geological databases and exploration data.
• Ability to lead and mentor geologists, technicians and contractors.
• Strong technical reporting and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in remote field environments on an 8/6 FIFO roster.
• Exposure to stakeholder engagement and regulatory requirements.
• Desirable: Honours in Geology, S1/S2/S3 Supervisor Training and Senior First Aid.
