About the Role
Join a company experiencing significant growth across the South Australian infrastructure market, with a strong pipeline of secured and upcoming projects driving the expansion of their pre-contracts team. This is an opportunity to step into a key position where you will have genuine influence over major tenders, pricing strategy and project outcomes across complex water and civil infrastructure works.

As Senior Estimator, you will work alongside experienced industry professionals on large-scale bids, utilising your first principles estimating expertise to shape competitive submissions and help secure landmark projects across the state. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed first principles cost estimates across labour, plant, materials and subcontractor scopes.
- Develop competitive pricing strategies aligned to market conditions and project requirements.
- Analyse construction methodologies and design options to identify cost-effective solutions.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure estimates meet project and budget expectations.
- Assess tender risks and opportunities and contribute to mitigation strategies.
- Review and vet subcontractor and supplier quotations for compliance and value.
- Monitor market trends, pricing movements and competitor activity to maintain competitive bids.
- Support project teams with budget insights, cost control measures and commercial guidance.
- Mentor junior estimators and contribute to the ongoing development of the estimating function.
- Ensure all tender submissions, estimate documentation and reporting are accurate, compliant and professionally presented.
About You / Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil or infrastructure estimating, preferably within water infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in first principles estimating is essential.
- Strong proficiency with estimating software, ideally Pronamics Expert.
- Experience working for local South Australian civil contractors will be highly regarded.
- Excellent stakeholder management, analytical and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders concurrently.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil or infrastructure estimating
- Proven experience in first principles estimating
