Job Purpose
This role will assist the projects in managing Engineering activities within the Traction Power discipline including Traction Substations, Sectioning Huts, and Overhead Wiring. Working closely with the Designers, Project Managers and Senior Project Engineers to meet the operational commitments in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, including Environmental sustainability, WHS activities, systems assurance, risk management, competency, requirement management, procurement, installation, Test and Commissioning, and site supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Experience in the delivery of Rail Electrical projects including experience with procedures including Possession/Occupation management, Isolation requests, hour by hour planning, construction adjacent to live services, and entry into service processes.
Assist other engineers in developing scopes and estimating.
Participate and contribute to the overall project program utilising Primavera P6.
Ensure deliveries meet construction schedule requirements.
Understanding and ability to implement a quality and process improvement system including preparation and implementation of design, ITC and ITP documentation, QA registers etc.
Assist engineers in reviewing design documentation, providing constructive critic and implementing final designs.
Lead the engineering and technical delivery of OHW and Traction Power projects from concept through to commissioning
Prepare engineering work packs, installation methodologies, inspection and test plans (ITPs), commissioning documentation and technical reports.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Project Engineers, Site Engineers and Supervisors.
Support possession planning, isolation management, access coordination and construction delivery within operational railway environments.
Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, procurement plans, delivery schedules and resource requirements.
Experience managing construction activities during possessions, occupations and isolation windows.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent – (Mandatory).
A minimum of 10 years’ construction experience working on rail power construction projects or similar.
Demonstrated experience delivering OHW and traction power projects in live rail environments.
