ABOUT CANNINGTON
Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.
Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position on a 4:3 roster, Monday to Thursday, FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.
As the Senior Engineer Capital Planning, you will be responsible for developing and optimising the medium‑term underground capital project portfolio, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant integration of infrastructure and production‑enabling activities into operational plans.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
- Develop capital and infrastructure plans aligned with operational requirements
- Maintain portfolios for major services, identifying constraints and required mitigations
- Provide technical guidance on infrastructure placement, commissioning and readiness
- Support compliance, risk management, audits and improvement initiatives across planning
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Knowledge of Queensland mining legislation, geotechnical principles and integrated planning systems
- Strong analytical judgement and ability to resolve complex technical challenges
- Experience with underground hard‑rock mine planning software and related tools
- Effective collaboration across multidisciplinary technical and operational teams
- Confident communication that influences decisions at all organisational levels
Qualifications for this position are:
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mining, or relevant discipline
- Current Drivers Licence
